Phlebotomy prepares individuals, under the supervision of physicians and other healthcare professionals, to draw blood samples from patients using a variety of invasive procedures. Instruction includes basic vascular anatomy and physiology, blood physiology, skin puncture techniques, venipuncture, venous specimen collection and handling, safety and sanitation procedures, and applicable standards and regulations. Upon successful completion of this 12- or 17-credit-hour program, individuals will earn a certificate of proficiency.

This course can be taken over either a 8 week or 16 week period of time in  Fall or Spring terms.  Students must attend classes on campus Mondays and Wednesdays 8 am to 3 pm and Tuesday 8 am to 11 am.  All other content will be delivered online.

Any student called to active military duty while enrolled in an allied health program will be guaranteed readmission upon return. The student will be required to meet the readmission standards set by the program.
