The Firefighter Essentials Program provides students with knowledge of modern municipal and rural fire protection, as well as the skills to apply that knowledge effectively. Classroom and laboratory exercises introduce students to various aspects of fire science, with part of the instruction occurring at area fire departments on a flexible schedule that allows maximum participation for those already employed in fire science as well as those preparing for the field of work. This is a career-laddering process which prepares graduates to enter the fire service at an entry firefighter level and to have met the qualifications of NFPA Level I and Level II.
Federal Student Aid regulations require institutions to disclose certain information about their students who enrolled in Title IV eligible educational programs that lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation (GE Programs).
