Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses.

  • It provides part-time employment while you are enrolled in school.
  • It’s available to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students with financial need.
  • It’s available to full-time or part-time students. 

How much can I earn?

You’ll earn at least the current federal minimum wage.
Your total work-study award depends on

  • when you apply,
  • your level of financial need, and
  • your school’s funding level.

Lab Assistant/Math Tutor Academic Success Center -Pocahontas; 10hrs per week, 16 weeks

Math tutors must have a completed upper level math courses and be able to clearly explain how to calculate answers in a variety of math problems.

Institutional Advancement Student Worker-Pocahontas; 10hrs per week, 16 weeks

Duties will include but not limited to assist with printed material, data entry, and assist with events.

Fire Science Student Worker-Pocahontas; 10hrs per week; 16 weeks

Duties will include cleaning designated area on the Walnut Ridge/Fire Training Campus.

Student Affairs Student Worker-Pocahontas; 10hrs per week, 16 weeks

Duties will include providing quality customer service to students and visitors, answering phones, making student ID’s, campus tours, stuffing envelopes and assisting with recruitment packets.

Maintenance Assistant-Paragould; 15hrs per week, 16 weeks

Duties will include lawncare and landscape maintenance, assist with building maintenance and events set up.  Possible heavy lifting may be required.

ARNEC Classroom Proctor-Pocahontas & Paragould; 10hrs per week, 16 weeks

Duties will include proctoring the classroom during examinations and lectures and maintaining a classroom environment.  Responsible for classroom attendance and distribution of classroom documents.  Applicant should be comfortable with technology.

Business Student Worker-Pocahontas; 15hrs, 16 weeks

Student should have completed Intro to Computer Concepts at a minimum to ensure they could assist other students during their time in the computer lab with additional computer classes preferred.  Should have good interpersonal skills as they will be overseeing classrooms of students while in the CVN room.

Library Assistant-Pocahontas; 15hrs, 16 weeks

Assist patrons in the use of computer technology and searching for and locating information resources, checking in and out library materials, answering phones, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Coffee Shop Student Worker-Pocahontas & Paragould; 10hrs, 16 week

Student will assist with food preparation, cashier duties, general cleaning of the coffee shop, service, and opening and closing of the shop.

Respiratory Care- Pocahontas; 20hrs, 16 weeks

Basic office duties including scanning, shedding, and filing

Career & Technical Center; Pocahontas & Paragould, 20hrs, 16 weeks

Monitor CTC students in computer lab/classroom, assist instructors as needed, and perform all job duties with honesty and integrity.
