BE PRO BE PROUD DRAFT DAY LANDS BRTC STUDENT A JOB BEFORE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION

POCAHONTAS, AR April 28—Participation in the Be Pro Be Proud Draft Day has landed one student a job, and several more have follow-up interviews.

Seniors enrolled in BRTC’s Career &Technical Center recently attended the Be Pro Be Proud Draft Day event at Jonesboro High School.  At this event, the students had the opportunity to interview for open positions in several Arkansas industries.

Levi Jukkola, a senior at Rector High School, has already accepted a position at Peco as a result of the Draft Day interviews. Jukkola will begin working in the maintenance department the day after his high school graduation.  Darenda Kersey, Director of Career, Technical, and Concurrent Education at BRTC, states that she is proud Jukkola. She adds, “Levi will be a tremendous benefit to Peco with his industrial electrical skills learned at BRTC.”

Ethan Harwell, Marmaduke High School senior, and Larry Burrow, Hillcrest High School senior, have follow-up interviews at NUCOR in the next week. BRTC wishes them the best in their upcoming interviews.
