BRTC’s Annual Day of Caring

POCAHONTAS, AR Jan. 4— For the 6th year, the BRTC Day of Caring, in partnership with BRTC’s Student Government Association (SGA), provided toys and gifts to BRTC students’ children.

On December 6, current BRTC students on both campuses were able to choose a toy or gift for each child living in their household, and 115 toys and gifts were given away!

In addition, each student who attended the event was entered into a drawing.  Two students on the Pocahontas campus won a child’s bike, and one student on the Paragould campus received an ONN Surf tablet. The prizes for the drawings were provided by two generous BRTC employees.

Lisa Parks, BRTC Instructor and one of the event coordinators states, “It’s always rewarding to be part of the BRTC Day of Caring. I’ve heard students say they were worried about providing Christmas gifts for their children, and, thanks to BRTC, they were able to have presents under their tree. It’s just nice sharing that Christmas spirit within the BRTC community.” She adds, “What’s great about this project is it’s not just for our students with children of their own, but BRTC students can also come shop for their younger siblings.”
