BRTC STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN BE PRO BE PROUD DRAFT DAY 2022
POCAHONTAS, AR April 6— On March 15, eighteen high school seniors enrolled in BRTC’s Career and Technical Center (CTC) attended the Be Pro Be Proud Draft Day 2022 held at Jonesboro High School.
Draft Day is a dynamic technical career event that brought employers and students together to help students prepare and interview for rewarding careers in today’s high demand technical roles. These CTC students were scientifically matched with potential employers, and each student interviewed with at least three companies such as Frito-Lay, Nucor Steel, Greenway Equipment, Jonesboro City Water & Light, and Peco just to name a few.
Darenda Kersey, Director of Career, Technical, and Concurrent Education, expressed how grateful she was for the opportunity her students had to participate in Draft Day. She states, “The Draft Day event was an amazing opportunity for our students. It’s my hope that this leads to an awesome high wage career for many of them. They are very talented and have worked hard to learn the technical skills taught here at BRTC.”
