TOP CADETS HONORED AT BRTC’S SPRING 2022 LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING ACADEMY GRADUATION
POCAHONTAS, AR May 4— Black River Technical College’s Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) held its Spring 2022 graduation ceremony on Friday, April 15 for the 57 officers who completed the Basic Police Training Course.
Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson addressed the graduating class during the ceremony held in the Randolph County Development Center on the Pocahontas campus.
After the Governor’s address, the top LETA cadets from class 2022-A were recognized. Cameron Kelemen of the Wynne Police Department earned the Top Overall Award, which is obtained by having the highest overall average in the areas of academics, firearms, and physical fitness. Sam White of the Jonesboro Police Department earned 2nd in this category, and Mark Brown of the Pocahontas Police Department earned 3rd.
Top Physical Fitness awards went to Daniel King of the Mountain Home Police Department, 1st; Sam White of the Jonesboro Police Department, 2nd; and Cameron Kelemen of the Wynne Police Department, 3rd.
The Top Academic awards went to Sam White of the Jonesboro Police Department, 1st; Colten Crabb of the Blytheville Police Department, 2nd; and Brent Kopiness of the Rector Police Department, 3rd.
Top EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) students were Trey Jackson of the Heber Springs Police Department, 1st; William Treat of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, 2nd; and Aaron Wilson of the Woodruff County Sheriff’s Office, 3rd.
Brad Miller of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, firing at a 97% accuracy, earned the top Firearms Award; Jaden Archer of the Blytheville Police Department, firing at a 96.4% accuracy, earned 2nd place; and Brent Kopiness of the Rector Police Department, firing at a 95.4% accuracy, earned 3rd place.
